Floating (2018)

Can a lumen print be comparable to Venice’s present precarious existence? The threatening changes to its existence, like the lumen print, are imperceptible, slow and hidden to the outsider.

I was struck by how many visitors come to Venice to mourn it: to see it before it “dies” and mourn its loss, when really there is nothing to mourn and everything to save.

This work was produced during the British Council Fellowship, during the Venice Art Biennale in June 2017. It was exhibited at BowArts in London and in Salford.
